Book Review: Leave It To Claire

Image
Leave it to Claire by Tracey Bateman Goodreads Summary: A modern-day single mother creates a to-do list to fix the mess she's made of her life. Will she realize the only way to truly grow is to let go of her own plans and listen to God? My Review: 2/5 Stars This book was very realistic which unfortunately made it sort of boring. Claire was a divorcee, raising 4 children, and had some personal issues that she was working through. She was rediscovering what her priorities should be, such as family, health, and her relationship with God. It was a pretty slow read for me, because it was so predictable.  I did however appreciate the Christian aspect throughout the book. It wasn't an overwhelming religious book, but subtle enough to honestly make me reevaluate my personal  priorities.

Book Review: No Limits

Image
No Limits: Blowing The Cap Off Your Capacity Goodreads Summary: #1 New York Times bestselling author John C. Maxwell's latest book will enhance the lives of leaders, professionals, and anyone who wants to achieve success and personal growth. We often treat the word capacity as if it were a natural law of limitation. Unfortunately, most of us are much more comfortable defining what we perceive as off limits rather than what's really possible. Could it be that many of us have failed to expand our potential because we have allowed what we perceive as capacity to define us? What if our limits are not really our limits? In his newest book, John Maxwell identifies 17 core capacities. Some of these are abilities we all already possess, such as energy, creativity and leadership. Others are aspects of our lives controlled by our choices, like our attitudes, character, and intentionality. Maxwell examines each of these capacities, and provides clear and actionable advice on how

Book Review: Where They Found Her

Image
Where They Found Her by Kimberly McCreight Goodreads Summary: From the author of the New York Times bestseller and 2014 Edgar and Anthony nominee Reconstructing Amelia comes another harrowing, gripping novel that marries psychological suspense with an emotionally powerful story about a community struggling with the consequences of a devastating discovery. At the end of a long winter, in bucolic Ridgedale, New Jersey, the body of an infant is discovered in the woods near the town’s prestigious university campus. No one knows who the baby is, or how her body ended up out there. But there is no shortage of opinions. When freelance journalist, and recent Ridgedale transplant, Molly Anderson is unexpectedly called upon to cover the story for the Ridegdale Reader, it’s a risk, given the severe depression that followed the loss of her own baby. But the bigger threat comes when Molly unearths some of Ridgedale’s darkest secrets, including a string of unreported sexual assaults t

Then a few martinis with Carter...no, Connor Reed and she's gone from first meet to marriage in one night! Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor's shocking bombshell? "I don't want a divorce." My Summary: 5/5 stars So cute! Part of me was thinking “Are you crazy? Get out of there you don't know this strange man!!” While the other half of me couldn't stop rooting for them to work. I found myself not being able to wipe a grin off my face. Everytime I started to

Image
Save the Date by Jenny B. Jones Goodreads Summary: You are cordially invited to the wedding of the year with the most unlikely bride and groom. Save the date . . . and say your prayers.
