Book Review: To All the Boys I've Loved Before
To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Goodreads Summary:
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.
My review:
3.5/ 5 stars
Let me preface my review by saying that I did something no good reader ever does... I saw the movie FIRST! I would catch my self comparing and choosing which way I liked it better, and honestly they were very very very different. And I usually (and sadly) preferred the movie.
The story is a coming of age story were Lara Jean is forced to deal with her feelings and determine if they were real or not. We got to meet a few of the guys the letters got send to and I really enjoyed seeing how their characters were intended to be by Han. I loved the premise of the book. I personally like to always keep my feelings a secret, but lucky for me I never right them down where someone can get them.
There are 2 more books in this series, and it's rumored the movies will come too! I promise to read the next book before the movie this time!!
