Book Review: The Wives

The Wives by Tarryn Fisher

Goodreads Summary:

New York Times bestselling author Tarryn Fisher delivers a pulse-pounding, fast-paced suspense novel that will leave you breathless. A thriller you won’t be able to put down!
Thursday’s husband, Seth, has two other wives. She’s never met them, and she doesn’t know anything about them. She agreed to this unusual arrangement because she’s so crazy about him.
But one day, she finds something. Something that tells a very different—and horrifying—story about the man she married.
What follows is one of the most twisted, shocking thrillers you’ll ever read.
You’ll have to grab a copy to find out why.

My Review:
3/5 Stars

The premise of this book was overall interesting and nothing like I had every read before. However it look me almost half of the book to get into in and become actually invested.

Seth has 3 wives and refers to them as the day of the week he is with each one - Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I didn't actually notice that the wife telling the story is actually named Thursday until the very end.

Part of the arrangement of their marriage is that Thursday will never meet or know anything about the other wives, and the crazy part is she's okay with it. We all have our tipping points though, the small fact she learns about the other wives is Thursdays.

The book takes several twists and turns once Thursday decides she wants to break the rules of the arrangement.  The ending was far from what I was expecting, and has left me questioning the truth behind all the secrets even days later.

Have you ever read anything by Fisher?
